Children write letters to animals

For several months, the "Samarskaya Luka" National Park actively participates in the interregional eco-educational project "Letters to Animals". This project is implemented by the Information and Analytical Center of Reserved Areas Matter Support together with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.

On the one hand, the project is game-like. But on the other hand, it is designed to explain to children fairly complex concepts about nature in a simple form. Such conversation format allows to acquaint the children with the life of animals on specific examples and correct erroneous knowledge. In addition, the letters create an emotional bond, so this project increases children's interest in living nature and bring up caring attitude for it.

Educational organizations, additional education centers, children's libraries and other institutions are involved in the project. Children from 6 to 12 years can be the participants.

The project is divided into 3 steps. For the first the staff of the Park work to attract project participants, dissemination of methodological materials and start correspondence. Then the employees of the Park carry out eco-educational activities in the framework of the project, continue correspondence, select the best letters for inclusion in the second part of the book "Hello, sable, how are you?". In the end the organizers summ up the results at the regional and interregional level and reward the project participants. The entire project will be held until December 2018.

More than 200 letters from 15 educational institutions have already come to the National Park, and they continue to arrive. In August, the best letters will be selected and sent to Moscow for further participation in the competition, and the winners of the regional stage will be awarded in Zhigulevsk.
